ABOUT ME...

I grew up in a small logging town in Northern British Columbia, a place where people learned early to be quiet, practical, and self-reliant. I have spent time working in many different industries and communities throughout the province, and this left me with a broad experience and perspective that I bring to my clients.

I chose to become a counsellor out of a genuine desire to help people to understand themselves and navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity and self-compassion. I believe many people carry more than they realize, often without adequate support. My aim is to provide a thoughtful, respectful space where clients can explore their experiences, strengthen emotional insight, and move toward meaningful, sustainable change.

At Oak & Ember, the counselling work is grounded in meeting people where they are, without pressure or judgment. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable, and deeply reflective, yet feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves or others. My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and body-aware, drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment theory, and somatic-based therapies. I am especially interested in helping clients develop self-leadership, emotional safety, and a more compassionate relationship with themselves. Whether you’re feeling burnt out, unsure of who you are, or simply tired of carrying things alone, therapy can be a place to slow down, make sense of your inner world, and find a way forward that feels authentic to you.
